Saturday, October 20, 2007 Website moved! Friends of Saline-Lindenberg,
We
have just completed migrating our web site to Google. Google has just
started supplying web site hosting for non-profits at no cost. This
will slightly change the appearance, but more importantly, it will
improve our shared picture albums and our ability to update the web
site. Now you can view and download picture files without signing on
to a photo service. The latest pictures from the Lindenberg visit last
week are now available for viewing. The URL of the website remains the
same http://salinesistercity.org/ . To find the pictures, select the
Pictures
link on the home page, scroll to the album you want to view and click
on the cover picture or the link. You can select any picture in the
album by clicking on the picture to see the full size picture then
download the file by right clicking the picture and saving it to your
disk or printing them. If you have pictures to post on the website,

Octoberfest is here!
Saturday
, October 14, 6pm-12 is the date for this year's Octoberfest at
Tri-County Sportsman's League. Diner and entertainment is included in
the $18 per person or $35 per couple ticket price. Entertainment will
be supplied by the Fiddlers Restrung and The Vagabonds. Tickets are
limited to 250 but still available by calling (734) 429-2274 or (734)

Current events
Hello Saline - Lindenberg Friendship Committee Members,
Next Saturday, July 15 is the Celtic Parade. We
are walking in the parade with the Saline - Brecon Friendship Guild.
We would like as many of you to walk with us. I don't have the line-up
schedule, yet, but we must be in line by 9:30 some where near the old
Middle School on Saline-Ann Arbor Rd. I will email everyone on the
exact location if you let me know if you are planning to walk in this
parade.
Thursday, July 20 & Thursday, August 17 are our next Stammtisch gatherings
at Mac's starting at 7:00. Hope to see you there.
Saline Summerfest is Friday & Saturday, August 11 & 12. We
are having a food booth with bratwurst, sauerkraut, lemonade, ice tea,
etc. to sell. Our booth will be open on Friday 5:00 - 9:00 and
Saturday 11:00 - 9:00. We need workers for 2 hour shifts during this time. Please
consider helping us out during this fundraising event. This will be a
trial run for our food booth at Christkindlmarket. If you are willing
to help please let me know (Audrey Barkel, 429-2328 or Abbarkel@aol.com) or Dick Nehring (429-4618 or rhnsaline@aol.com) by Monday, July 31.
The German Park Picnic is held the last Saturday of the 3 summer months every year.
The SLFC board would be willing to hold a table for our group for Saturday, August 26 if
you are interested in going to this picnic enjoy eating German food and
listening to German music. Please let Dick or me know by Sunday, August 13 in you are interested in going and having a fun time.
Thank you in advance if you are planning to help us out or by attending any of these events. As a new organization
we are trying to get more dependable members to help to support us.

Dr. Werner Hofstetter and his son, Konstantin visit May 1 - 5
Werner
Hofstetter and his son, Konstantin, are going to be in Saline from May
1 - May 5. There will be a special Stammtisch gathering downstairs at
Mac's May 4 starting at 7:00. Let's give a warm welcome to the
Hofstetters!
